Keeping Our Eyes On God
Wednesday, October 14, 2015

The Israelites were to go against the Northern Palestinians to possess the land given them by God (Joshua 11:1-3). Many kings gathered at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel (Joshua11:6). They had in mind to defeat Israel, yet God told Joshua, "Do not fear for I will give them slain into your hands." They obeyed God and conquered Northern Palestine. With God before them they would not be defeated, no matter how many came against them. God had promised this land to his people (Leviticus 20:23-24). They conquered and took possession of the land; then gave it as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel (Joshua11:23).

We, today, have an inheritance waiting for us (Titus 3:7). The world comes against us sometimes like a flood of water trying to devour us, but no matter what comes against us, we, like the children of Israel, can have victory with God, for he will fight for us and bring us through if we rely on him completely. Eternity is our home someday where we will see God and live in that New Jerusalem where sin is no more; for this is our hope.

What an inheritance we have in God! Let's run with assurance.
