The Cover-up

Genesis 3:20-24
It's the Lord that takes the initiative to cover our sin and shame. This "cover-up" of our "falling short of the glory of God" takes us all the way to Calvary. Our sin has shut us off from the Tree of Life. "The wages of sin is death." This is very costly because it not only blocks the entrance to eternal life, but we also experience division with others and become incapable of saving ourselves.

When we think of becoming heirs, I'm sure it doesn't envision death beyond all hope. However, that's exactly what our first parents left us. Our second, Adam, left us something far more rewarding, but we need to own up to our fallen nature to become joint heirs with Christ. This new life restores the benefits of kingdom life. Our confession repairs our relationship with God and gives us access to the Tree of Life (Rev. 2:7; 22:2, 14, 19). Rejoice!

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" 1 John 1:9 (MEV).

Thank you Lord that my sins are not just covered up, but eradicated.
