Why?

Job continued his lament. One "why" follows another. He was trying to understand. We cannot really fathom the depth of Job's suffering. There were numerous losses as well as the physical pain. Even his wife, who also had suffered much, urged him to give up on God. In his questioning he was seeking peace and rest. Still, I do not see him blaming God. He just asked to discover meaning in all the pain. He lived in a culture that equated health and wealth with God's blessing. I still see that all around us today. Still his trust in God showed throughout his lament. All he asked for at that point was some understanding.
How will I react when life is hard?
