Psalm 27
Whom shall I fear? How many people do you know that live in fear? People need to know that God can be their stronghold and salvation. David has known the fear that the wicked can add to our lives and he can say without reservation that God is his stronghold and that he will not fear. David reminds us in this psalm that we need to call upon the Lord for our strength. Seeking God constantly and making his will our only priority is the key to being able to speak as David does. Again, the image of a path and keeping it straight with only God's guidance is given here. In my mind as I read these psalms, the picture of holding God's hand walking along in life is so strong and rewarding. However, as you read David's words, he makes it clear that one must purposely and continually call upon the Lord for his mercy and guidance. David ends this psalm by instructing us to wait upon the Lord because he is able and willing to take total care of us!

"Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."
