Best in Life = Obedience to God's Commands

Exodus 12:43-51
As I read this passage the first thing that comes to my mind is the fact that we serve a God who demands obedience. Following God's commands is not always easy. Do you ever wonder why that is? Why doesn't God just make everything easy for those who want to serve him? The foreigners were made to follow the same rules and customs as the Israelites. God honored this obedience by leading the people out of the bondage. These people had to depend totally on God for their survival through the wilderness. Let's think of our own lives. Do we depend on God for our very survival with our obedience to him? We have choices in our lives all the time. Either do what we know God would approve of or just do what we find easiest at the time. Life just doesn't have to be so hard for those who depend on a God that demands obedience to his Word. Spend some time today thinking of how you can adjust things in your life to reflect your obedience to God's Word.

Dear heavenly Father, give us the strength and knowledge to be obedient to your word.
