Would you help a stranger? We often are guilty of seeing only as far as our arms will reach. But outside our comfortable radius of familiarity there exist billions of people. I would venture to state that most are in need in some way. Even I am in need often enough!
You may find your situation too much to bear. But look at Moses. Given that he was fleeing for his life, he still took time to defend the defenseless. What did it get him? God's blessing, provision and a period of peace.
Are you willing to do the same? Can you put down your load long enough to assist another? Your "reward" is not likely to be a home, a spouse and an heir; but God sees all that we do. Do not doubt his ability to care and guide you. Moses put aside his issues for a moment to help others. In doing so God provided greater answers for Moses than were even known by him at that time. God can even do so for you.
Lord, help me see the needs of others - those I know and that I don't. Help me love and serve them as you have loved me.
