When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from Mt. Sinai (the KJV and ESV use the word, delayed), they grew impatient and demanded that Aaron make new gods for them to follow. They even gave all their gold for the cause, perhaps the very gold they had gotten when God delivered them so dramatically from the Egyptians. Then they set their hearts to revelry. We stand in amazement and wonder how they could do that in such a short time. What can I say? Are we that prone to wander so quickly? How do I keep my passion high as Jesus' promised return is seemingly delayed and such a long time coming? Please! OH LORD, do not let the desires for what I can see overcome the Blessed Hope I so long for.
Matthew 24:42 - "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."
