The debate about what is right and good can get pretty heated these days! Many who encourage others to be tolerant and kind don't act that way themselves when people disagree with them. Let's not join them in that! As believers in our loving Lord, we need to be loving and kind, but being loving doesn't mean that we are to consider all behavior acceptable. No, we can't dictate how others in our community and nation live, but we can and we must set standards for our own behavior. Today's passage tells us how we are to do that. We must do what is right and good in the Lord's sight. God's standards are the ones we are to live by - and encourage others to live by. Those are the ones we are to teach - especially to our children.
