On July 6, 2000, I had a stroke and was forced to take early retirement at age 46. Prior to receiving Medicare, I had to depend on my paid leave. That ran out and I had to apply for food stamps - a very humbling experience. I was asked by my sister why I was not worried. I told her if God will take care of the birds of the air, he will take care of me. This Scripture illustrates how demanding we can be when we WANT something, but God takes care of all our NEEDS.
Lord, humble us in our prayers to you and help us to appreciate your provisions. In Hebrews you tell us you will never leave or forsake us and that is evident in your daily provision. Thank you, Lord, for all you do. In your Son's precious name, amen.
