"Life just isn't fair!" How do you respond to that? Job continues to lament in the midst of his desperation, bringing about doubt and unbelief. Have you been in a place where justice seemed to pass you by? Have you been unjustly accused? Have you been in a place of discontentment that can easily become self-abasement? I can't even begin to describe Job's pain. It can hurt when well-meaning friends say, "I know what you're going through" or "I feel your pain." Most of the time they don't. Unless you have experienced severe heath issues or the death of a spouse or child, you just don't know that pain, period. Job had it right, "life is like a vapor." No matter how much I try to defend myself, I "fall short of the glory of God." Snow water will not cleanse me, I need 1 John 1:9. I wish I could reach back in time and say to Job, "stop, you no longer need to condemn yourself, we have a loving advocate that has become our mediator and he pleads our case before the Father." Then, I would be quiet, give him a hug and pray!!!
