Look Amongst the Reeds

Exodus 2:5-9
You may have noticed the tree on your lawn ... but did you notice that little nest so carefully tucked in between the branches? To you, the nest is likely no more than a novelty. To the birds who call it home, it is their pride, joy and refuge in the time of storm.

The infant Moses was a sign to his parents of God's provision and care. Placed among the reeds, his mother put her hope once again squarely in the hands of the Almighty God. He alone would could care for and deliver her child.

What would have happened if Pharaoh's daughter had simply passed by? In amongst the "reeds" of life we may find our own "babe in a basket." Or, should the situation present, you might be the one tucked in the "reeds" yourself. The question remains, "Have you looked amongst the reeds lately?" You never know what, or who you might find. In all cases, God can do great things if you are obedient to stop and take a look.

Among the reeds the water slows enough that we might stop and look clearly at the world God has prepared beneath. He has already done it, we have only to stop and look among the reeds.
