In these verses we see Moses feeling he had to do it all. Sounds like so many pastors and even members of the church. As with Moses we become over burdened with the duties of the church or even living the Christian life. As Moses had Jethro to remind him that he was only human, so we have the Holy Spirit to remind us that we are only human and need to lean on the Holy Trinity. Part of letting them lead is letting others help and letting the Holy Spirit do the leading of others to Christ.
Burnout is all too common in the church today. The world has no one to turn to, but we Bible-believing Christians have the Holy Spirit. Will you let a Jethro be a part of your life and help keep you from burnout?
Lord, open my eyes to the Jethros you have placed in my life.
