An Honest Man
Wednesday, June 29, 2016

As children, my brother (whom I love and admire greatly) and I would inevitably end up fighting, especially if left alone. One such incident found me hurling a toy billy club from a police set at my brother. As usual, my luck in such circumstances dictated a miss. The billy club proceeded to poke a hole in the wall just above the living room couch. In my infinite wisdom and panic I tried to cover up the hole by putting a golden book on the back of the couch so it would hide the hole. To my dismay, Mom somehow discovered my folly. I learned that honesty is the best policy. All God really desires, is for us to be honest. And as verse 4 says, in the NIV, even when it hurts.

Lord, help me be an honest man.
