Psalm 28:7–8

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. The LORD is the strength of his people; He is the saving refuge of his anointed.”

In a world that seems to be ever-evolving in culture and social media and telling us what we should think and/or believe; I am reminded by this verse to continually and always put my trust in the Lord God and not in those of this world that are controlled by Satan. As we go through this journey of Lent, let us draw close and remember his strength.

As a psychologist friend of mine reminds me “Life is hard; and life is not fair,” yet life can become good when our trust is in the Lord. Yes, we still have struggles and often when we watch those closest to us making decisions that seem wrong and our tears begin to flow for them, the psalmist reminds us in Psalm 30:5 “For His anger is but for a moment, and His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Our joy every morning is the good news that God loves us. He gave to the world his only Son and all who believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is our strength and joy for today, and for every day that he gives to us.

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
