“Wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:14, NASB).
Helen Keller once said that she had four things to learn in life: “To think clearly without hurry or confusion; To love everybody sincerely; To act in everything with the highest motives; To trust God unhesitatingly.” We can appreciate these words coming from a woman who could not see nor hear. There were probably many moments when Helen Keller waited for the Lord’s direction for her life.
How impatient and anxious we often become when we have to wait. Doctors’ appointments, loved ones in surgery, husbands late from work, are situations when we have perhaps felt anxiety in waiting. Yet, when we wait on God, we can be assured of two things: (1) that he will meet us (2) that he will bless us. Isn’t it wonderful to know that when we trust God all the way, we can know that he will never lead us wrong?
Lord, help us to wait on you and fully trust you with our lives. Amen.
