Psalm 17 is a prayer of an innocent person seeking God's protection and grace in difficult and challenging times. However, the text of Psalm 17:6-9 gives us some amazing assurance and promises from God. The psalmist reminds us we can always pray to God because God answers our prayers. Of course, the challenge for you and me is whether we can process, understand and accept God's answer to us. For instance, I prayed for 20 years that God would heal my father of muscular dystrophy, and it wasn't until the remaining years of my fathers' life that God did heal him - not a physical healing but a spiritual and inner self healing. My father taught me so much about life, living, attitudes, faith, courage, resiliency and the ending days of life.
God has the ability to take the crises, disappointments, losses and failures in our life and make them a MIRACLE of life and living. God is good all the time, all the time God is good!
God, thank you for revealing yourself to us through our relationships and how we see you in others and are better persons because of them. AMEN.
