Solomon was faithful in his prayers and supplications. After the dedication of the temple, God showed up. He'd heard their prayers and declared that he had made his house holy. He said that his name, eyes and heart would be put there forever. If Solomon would walk with integrity and uprightness and otherwise keep his commandments, there would forever be a man upon the throne of Israel. BUT there were conditions. The people must follow God faithfully with no worshiping of other gods. If this should happen, Israel would be cut off and become a byword among all people. The temple itself would be a cause of hissing by passersby. People would wonder what happened to Israel and their holy place of worship.

Sadly, this did come to pass, and we have indeed observed Israel's sad fate, to the extent that many have been persecuted, put to death and driven from their land. We long for the time when a remnant of these people might be returned to their homeland.

Let's pray for ourselves, that we will be faithful as we await Christ's return. May God grant us peace and safety and remove the blinders from our Jewish friends so they may believe unto salvation.
