The FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay course runs along our traditional Marathon course.  The 5-Person Relay offers a distance for everyone, regardless of your fitness level.

The Relay Handbook outlines the rules and procedures for the Marathon Relay. The greater awareness of each team member, the smoother the relay team competition will run on race day.  We recommend that you read and familiarize yourself with the information in this handbook, relay shuttle information and road closures. 

It is also beneficial to know the pace of your relay team members especially the runner that is running the previous relay leg so you will know the approximate time to expect them in the relay exchange area.

Marathon Relay Team Member Registrations
 Relay team members that did not register with their team before online registration closed, may do so at the GNC Live Well Pittsburgh Health and Fitness Expo. They will need to present their team's race number provided by a registered teammate, and they will fill out a registration form at the Runners Services area.

Packet Pick Up for Relay Teams

Race numbers, D-Tags and runner packets can be picked up at the GNC Live Well Pittsburgh Health and Fitness Expo at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center during Expo hours. There is no packet pickup on race day. One relay team member can pick up packets for their entire team but each team member must follow the packet pick-up procedure.

Each relay team will receive one slap band that will be exchanged in the relay exchanges. The slap band will be given to the relay team member running the first leg of the relay race. The slap bands will be available at the relay packet pick up area at the Expo. 
 

Shuttle service for the FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay will be provided to and from relay exchanges 2, 3 and 4 ONLY, on Sunday, May 15. The shuttle bus pick-up and drop off area is located near Heinz Field, Gate C on Allegheny Avenue beginning at 6:00am. Arrive early to ensure you arrive at your relay exchange on time.

No Shuttles will be provided to Relay Exchange 1 as it is within walking distance from the finish line area.
