This year our faculty is continuing to implement the Teaching Force program. Teaching Force is a program developed in the Netherlands and now in place in about 1000 schools across that country. We are the first school in the United States to implement this program. The goal of the program is to improve our school a little bit every day, together. On Wednesday afternoons our teachers work on lesson design and collaborative practices to improve our school culture and teaching & learning. This morning I introduced what is known as an Improvement Board Session to the students. Gradually, we will have students using some of the protocols in classrooms that provide opportunities to set goals, map out plans to reach those goals, track progress, and celebrate success. Additionally, the feedback model of the program creates opportunities for students to provide feedback to teachers. It is an exciting method for improving our school. I look forward to the work ahead and providing future updates.
October has a number of fun events coming up. The PTO pie sale is underway. The Halloween Dance is back at the end of the month. Our Charter Scratch Kitchen is selling their amazing pizza and salad dinner for Takeout Tuesday. See below for details on all of this.
Thanks to the generosity of many who have donated above the suggested donation of $150 per student for our Student Success Fund. This gets us well on our way toward reaching our goal of brining in $30,000 for the Student Success Fund. However, we do still have 70 families that have not yet contributed to the fund. Please make any contribution now to help us reach our goal. You can set up a payment plan if needed. https://www.marbleheadcharter.org/student-success-fund-3/. We truly appreciate the support.
