March Into Giving

Our biggest online giving campaign of the year is here! Many of our neighbors are facing obstacles beyond their control. February has been a rough month. The good news is you can help. How to Donate Items We take item Donations EVERY Monday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. *Insider Tip: Coordinate with neighbors or a community group for one individual to take a group's items each week. Have quality furniture you need picked up? We can do that on Wednesdays and Fridays; please call 512-943-0711 to schedule or visit caringplacetx.org/donatemystuff for more information and to view our pick-up map.

Spring Into Shopping for Good!

Our thrift stores are for everyone! Families in need can utilize vouchers for necessities that they receive from Programs & Services, but everyone in the community is encouraged to shop at our thrift stores. We are proud of our great prices and unique items that our community donates and we know you will be, too! Shopping in our stores supports the mission to provide for the basic human needs of all people in our community in a welcoming, respectful and caring way. We call this "Shopping for Good!" Store hours: The Shops at The Caring Place at 2000 Railroad is open Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Second Helping at 3700 Williams is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Appointments are recommended as there is limited walk-in space availability. Make appointments at caringplacetx.org/shop. Still looking to support The Caring Place by shopping, but you can't make it to the stores? You can shop ebay, Randalls, and AmazonSmile.

What you Need to Know About Our Services to Those in Need...

Our format and hours have been modified due to COVID-19 and will stay updated at caringplacetx.org/covid19. We will scale up as resources and safety allow. Here are the details the community needs to know before arriving at The Caring Place for services or food:

Programs & Services via Telephone: Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Services: Financial Assistance includes help with rent, mortgage, utilities, transportation, emergency dental and prescriptions. Assistance is available with a verifiable proof of crisis. All financial assistance will be handled remotely. Non-financial assistance (i.e. clothing, appliances, housewares, etc.) is not available at this time. Please call 512-943-0709 and leave a message regarding your need and someone will contact you within 1 week with the next steps. Please do not arrive at The Caring Place office unless instructed by staff. Programs & Services staff will direct you via phone if you need to print documents to return to our office at 2001 Railroad Avenue.

Food Programs:    Fresh Food for Families and the Drive Through Food Pantry are open to all neighbors in need. The Caring Place practices social distancing, and you will not need to exit your vehicle during food distribution. You do not need to bring any documentation to receive food. You will only answer a few questions from your car. Have questions about Food Programs? Please call our main line at 512-943-0700. Learn more at caringplacetx.org/getfood.

Drive Through Food Pantry On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. join us in the 2000 Railroad drive through to receive shelf stable food and occasional fresh items. Fresh Food for Families On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of the month The Caring Place offers "Fresh Food for Families" in the 2000 Railroad drive through. The fast-paced event runs 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. The next events are March 15th & 29th.

Food Programs in the Bartlett Area: March 10th (2nd Wednesday of the month) 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church at 645 West Clark St. in Bartlett.

The Impact You Can Make

One of the most utilized programs at The Caring Place is our Food Programs. This image illustrates the impact you can make by making a monetary donation to The Caring Place. The stack of corn on the left is approximately the amount of corn an individual can buy at the grocery store for $10. The stack of cans on the right is how much we can buy from Central Texas Food Bank as a designated platinum partner. That's a lot more corn, right? Right now, due the matching opportunities during the Amplify campaign, that stack of food can be even greater! All it takes is a gift from YOU. As you can see, The Caring Place can do a lot with a little, so no gift is too small. If you are ready to take part in solving community problems with us during a challenging year, you can start by making your Amplify donation at caringplacetx.org/amplify by March 5th at 6pm.
