Ahead of our usual monthly newsletter, I wanted to send a reminder about a few upcoming Friends of the Library activities to our Friends members.
First up, it's ELECTION DAY in Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 3rd. We will be holding our usual
Election Day Bake Sale beginning at 8am. If you would like to donate baked goods for the sale, please bring them to the library on Monday 4/2 or on the morning of Tuesday 4/3.
Don't forget that we will be holding a special
Used Book Sale in honor of National Library Week. The sale will be held during normal library hours on April 11, 12, 13, and 14. Here are a few ways you can help with the sale:
- Plan to stay after the Friends meeting for set up on April 10
- Donate items to sell: We can't accept them until April 9, but at that time we accept fiction, nonfiction, and children's books as well as DVDs and audiobooks. Sorry, we cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or anything with water or mold damage or in poor condition.
- Sign up to help each morning at the book sale - we'll need 1 or 2 people each morning for less than an hour. Call the library at 715-476-2366 to sign up.
- HELP PROMOTE THE SALE by putting up posters around town. Stop by the library any time to pick some up. You can also share the event on Facebook or tell your friends! The main goal of this sale is to clear out our storage space, so the more people that shop the better we'll do.
Finally, make your plans for the Big Top this summer! In honor of her mother Marge Beam, Wendy Theide has purchased a block of tickets to see
Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy
at the Big Top Chautauqua on August 16th. Wendy is inviting Friends of the Library members to join in the fun! Tickets are $55 per person, and transportation will be provided. The group also plans to spend some time in Bayfield before the concert and enjoy a dinner together -- details to be determined. Only a handful of tickets remain, so if you would like to join in, let us know.
The next regular Friends of the Library meeting will be on April 10 at 10:00am. As always, if you have questions or ideas please let me know. Thanks for all of your support for our library -- we really do have the best Friends!
