Code of Conduct
The Code is one of the most important parts of the organization’s Compliance Program and reflects our commitment to the highest standard of business ethics and compliance. The Code is designed to help guide your daily activities and to help us all act with integrity in the various situations we encounter.
What is Integrity?
When we say that a person has integrity, it means that the person we are referring to is honest and has consistency of character. If someone claims to have integrity, they should have honesty, honor, ethics and high moral standards, and they always act according to these values.
How should I use the Code?
Links are included throughout the Code to policies, guidelines and additional resources. Please use them as a resource whenever you have questions or concerns.
What should you do if you have questions or concerns?
Should you have questions or concerns regarding this Code or any Compliance related policy, you should always feel comfortable raising the question to a supervisor, the Facility Compliance Officer (FCO), the Facility Privacy Officer (FPO), Corporate Compliance, or through the Confidential Disclosure Program (i.e. “Hotline”).

Vista Blood Drive
Helps Save Up to 66 Lives
A huge thank you to all of the donors who participated in the February Community Blood Drive at Vista Medical Center East! There were a total of 22 blood donations which can help save up to 66 lives. Additionally, there were nine first time donors.
Did you know that every two seconds someone needs blood, and that one in every seven people entering a hospital may need a blood product? This is why blood donations are so important! Thank you again for coming together to make a difference for local patients and veterans in our community by donating blood. If you didn't get to donate this time around, be on the lookout for more blood drives this year coming to Vista in June and September!

National Donate Life Month:
Say yes to organ, eye and tissue donation
Vista is proud to join the National Donate Life Month “Say Yes!” campaign this April, in partnership with Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, other organizations and advocates throughout Illinois and northwest Indiana.
We encourage everyone to become educated about donation and say yes to registering as an organ, eye & tissue donor today. As a donor, you could save up to eight lives and heal more than 25 people in need of skin grafts, bone or tendon grafts or other donated tissue.
Registering as a donor means that you have documented your wish to save lives when you are gone. It means you can help others walk or see again. It means your family and friends have another way to celebrate your life—as someone who gave the gift of hope to others.
You likely know someone who has benefited from a gift from an organ or tissue donor. Perhaps you or someone you know had surgery for a torn ligament or tendon. You might know someone who was on dialysis and received a new kidney. You may also know that the need for organ donors is especially critical: Another person in need of a lifesaving organ is added to the national waiting list every 9 minutes and many spend years waiting.
Thank you to all who take part in this important celebration!

How does Simple + Price work?
Healthcare pricing can be confusing. To simplify things, we offer a pre-pay pricing program for those who might not have insurance. It’s called Simple + Price and it covers most common imaging tests.
The Simple + Price plan offers a single price for select tests, when paid up-front. The price includes the hospital charge and the Radiologist reading. That's price certainty. No confusion. No surprises. No separate bills later. And, it can help you stay on track for optimal health.
If you need of some type of imaging service – like an X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammogram, CT or MRI – call our financial advisor at 847-360-4311 to get an upfront bundled pre-pay price. This Simple + Price bundled pricing may not be used in conjunction with insurance. It also does not include further testing that may be ordered by your physician. Learn more at VistaHealth.com/Simple.

All 2W Staff
I would like to thank all the nursing staff on 2W. Everyone was very caring and provided quality service to my sister Bonni. She had broken her hip in a fall, but also has several serious medical issues. Bonni was treated compassionately and respectfully. The staff were always available to answer a question or explain a situation. I wanted to acknowledge the excellent care received for approximately 3 weeks. It was a pleasure meeting the staff that I speak to but never see, I work in Communications and talk to most of the staff.
Thank you RN'S and Patient care techs, respiratory tech and all others who provided care.
From: Marcine Riggsbee, Senior Operator Communications

Edith Kathan - Housekeeping
My mother was admitted late January for 4 days. Not only did she do her job WITH a smile and pleasant conversation, she made sure my mother was aware that if she needed ANYTHING to please ask, even if it was not housekeeping related. As i walked in and out I observed her interaction with multiple patients and was happy to see she extended that to each room. What a gem. I feel that was going over and above and I appreciated her very much. THANK YOU EDITH!!!
