Hello dear friends and clients,
As I write this, COVID 19 has just been declared a global pandemic. With all my heart, I hope that you are virus free and that your loved ones are healthy, too. Life throws us some strange curves and here in Montana, we always pull together to help each other. It's one of the qualities of Montana that I dearly love. Up to now, (fingers crossed) Montana is one of a few states that is corona virus free. Even so, we will pay attention to best practices and public health announcements to stay healthy.
Interest rates are incredibly low and with the stock market in its current free fall, real estate may be your best investment.
On that note, if
you have recently cancelled, withdrawn your listing or it has expired, contact me. We'll get it listed and sold! My experience, consistent record and excellent negotiating skills will successfully lead you toward a sale at the right price. Call, text or email me. We'll have dinner (I have an in with the local sushi joint).
Best of health, wherever this finds you. Denise

Testimonial
Dear Denise,
Thanks for sending the Final Seller’s Statement. The enclosed photo was taken by me of my Dachshund, Dixie on her favorite rock on the property we sold. I always enjoyed walking the property. I figured it wouldn’t be right not to send you a thank you card for your work. You stuck with it. I bet a lot of agencies would not have been as dedicated. Don A.

Denise's Cooking Corner - Irish Soda Bread
(great with corned beef)
|
|
INGREDIENTS
4 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for currants
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch dice
1 3/4 cups cold buttermilk, shaken
1 extra-large egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 cup dried currants
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Add the butter and mix on low speed until the butter is mixed into the flour.
With a fork, lightly beat the buttermilk, egg, and orange zest together in a measuring cup. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture. Combine the currants with 1 tablespoon of flour and mix into the dough. It will be very wet.
Dump the dough onto a well-floured board and knead it a few times into a round loaf. Place the loaf on the prepared sheet pan and lightly cut an X into the top of the bread with a serrated knife. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. When you tap the loaf, it will have a hollow sound.
Cool on a baking rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Denise's Book Corner - T
he Topeka School
by Ben Lerner
|
|
Adam Gordon is a 1997 senior at Topeka High School. A renowned debater and orator and expected to win a national championship before he heads to college, Adam is also an aspiring poet, weight lifter and one of the cool kids—a real man. Adam is also one of the seniors who brings the loner Darren Eberheart, into the social scene, with disastrous effects.
The
Topeka School
is the story of a family's struggles and strengths--a mother’s reckoning with an abusive father and a father’s marital transgressions. It is a story of the challenge of raising a son in a culture of toxic masculinity. It brings into light current sensibilities--the collapse of public speech, the trolls and tyrants of the new right and the ongoing crisis of identity among white men. (It is said to be Barak Obama’s favorite book). I found it a fascinating bridge between the 1990s and the present, between adolescence, the turn of a century and human transgressions.
