  • Schedule a Specialized Workshop for your home school group, study group, girl's day out, etc. Specialized workshops can be fun and educational - and can be anything from a how-to to hands-on.

  • Field trips with Dr. Patti! Dr. Patti Nagai is a horticulturalist, garden writer and educator, with an encyclopedic level of plant knowledge. If you have a question - Dr. Patti has an answer! Email us to schedule your creative talk or workshop. Age doesn't matter - plants are for EVERYONE!

  • Do you have a future Eagle Scout? We love working with Boy Scouts and other groups. If your prospective Eagle Scout would like some real-life landscaping or gardening experience, email us for more information.

Saturday Social Workshops – second Saturday of the month at 10:00 am, costs vary depending on the project. Shady Lane Garden Club members get $5 off their project fee.

May 14th – Growing Culinary Herbs Window Box of Herbs ($30)
June 11th – Summer Garden Care Pretty Pepper Pots ($20)
September 10th – Fall Gardening More than Mums Porch Pot ($35)
October 8th – Bringing Plants Indoors Repotting/Insect Control (NC)
November 12th – Winter Wreath 24” Wreath Magnolia, Local Greens, 
& Twigs ($40)

Family Garden Classes – Saturdays at 10:00 or Sundays 1:30-3:00. Class size limited to 10 families.

  • April 24th – Growing Flowers and Vegetables from Seed ($5) Seeding different types of seeds, seedling care, and how to grow cool season flowers and veggies. Plant seeds in a container to take home and nurture. (Optional lettuce/greens bowl planting – $12)
  • May 14th – Warm Season Veggies in Plots or Pots ($30)– everything you want to know about growing peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and other veggies in the garden or in a container on your porch or patio. Plant your own large veggie container garden with tomato, pepper, & herb.
  • May 22nd – Buzzing Bees and Beautiful Butterflies in Your Garden ($25) – learn which flowers attract pollinators and why, plant your own pot of beautiful pollinator plants.
  • July 24th – Using your Nose – Smell Those Plants! ($5) Learn about all the different kinds of fragrant foliage and flowers, then create your own potpourri to take home.
(Tentative: Minimum of 8 participants to hold this class.)
  • August 21st – The Art of Flowers – Learning About Flower Form and Color through Art ($5)

IT'S FUNDRAISER TIME!

There are so many options for all sorts of fundraisers - from school, to homeschool, church to study groups, small, large, in between... kids, adults, teens, the options are limitless. We have standard fundraiser forms on our website, with photos of some of the options we offer. But, if you have an idea for something you'd like your group to sell - we'd love to work with you to come up with what works best for your group. Whether you'd like to raise money to donate to a specific cause, or funding to help your organization, there's no wrong way to fund raise with Shady Lane!

TRAIN HOURS:
Come see our trains! Of course, we also have plants, but definitely come see our trains! Our trains are taking a well-deserved nap, but you can come see them during regular business hours, even if they're not choo-choo-chugging along on their tracks.

Hand sanitizer stations are available nearby.
