MARCH NEWSLETTER

LENTEN SEASON CONTINUES
As we continue in the season of Lent, we are considering the story of Jonah and the challenges he encountered on his way to discovering that God's will, always leads to Grace.  So please, gather with us during worship on either Wednesday at 12:09 and 6:30 or Sunday at 9:15 to hear this message of God's unrelenting love for God's people.
MISSION

GOD'S WORK. OUR HANDS

PANCAKE SUPPER - THANK YOU!
On Shrove Tuesday, February 13, Christ Lutheran Mission Board hosted their fifth annual Pancake Supper, organized by Ruth Parker and led by the Men In Mission. More than 100 folks enjoyed pancakes and sausage and raised $1302 for this year's Rise Against Hunger food packaging project, which will be held on God's Work, Our Hands Sunday, September 9th.

Barn Banks
Barn Banks are available for members and friends to collect funds during Lent. Banks are due to be returned to the church before Maundy Thursday. These funds will be combined with the Pancake Supper funds to be used for this year's Rise Against Hunger event.

HUNGER
Canned and non perishable food donations in March will be donated to Faith Mission. Please help by bringing your canned and non-perishable food items to the food table located in the narthex.

RISE AGAINST HUNGER
We were recently advised by Rise Against Hunger that the 10,000+ meals that we packaged in 2017 were combined with other groups' efforts and shipped to Nicaragua with a team from Convoy of Hope, a parachurch hunger group that will use our shipment to feed 13,000 school children living in poverty and food insecurity.

QUILTING
Our quilters are in need of fabric and they also need folks who will sew quilt tops. At the last Quilting Bee 14 quilts were made for Lutheran World Relief. So now our quilters are ready for more quilts and fabric to make more quilts. You can bring the fabric to the church office and if you can help with sewing quilt tops please contact Jeanette Fair at 979-277-8035 .
