UNITED METHODIST WOMEN COLLECTION & MEETING
|
United Methodist Women will meet on March 17 at 7:00pm in the Palo Verde Room for a program presented by speakers from the Busted Broads charity. Currently we are collecting wine corks, jewelry (good or broken), paint, glitter, styrofoam pieces, ribbon, fabric swatches , floral pieces, beads, garland, yarn, felt, colored paper, old ornaments, gift bags, old picture frames, calendars, and leather pieces. Please bring these items to the unit meeting or place in the collection box at church on Sunday or in the office weekdays. Email UMW with any questions.

Wrap up the week with some family fun in the Dayspring Arcadia park with family-friendly movies on the big screen in the Dayspring Arcadia Park at 7:00 during lent. Be sure to bring your blankets and favorite movie snacks! Email Amy for details.

We will celebrate the life of Edna Minger this Saturday, March 12, at 1:00pm. A reception will follow the service in Fellowship Hall.

Our 2022 build dates are set! We will be building a home in South Phoenix on 10th Ave near Buckeye. Our dates are March 19, April 9, May 7, and June 4. Please email Mark Boyle with questions or to sign up. Habitat also qualifies for the Arizona Charitable Giving Credit on your state taxes.

BORDERLANDS PRODUCE RESCUE
|
We host another Borderlands next Saturday, March 19, from 6:30 - 11am in the Arcadia parking lot. Volunteers are needed to help pack and distribute approximately 70 pounds of fresh produce. We would love to see you there if you can make it! It’s a great way do some outdoor community service, enjoy the cool mornings, and help with environmental and food justice work in our community. We will be hosting Family Promise the week of March 27. Volunteers are needed for set up, tear down, providing entertainment, and overnight hosting. To sign up or ask questions, please email Maria or Howard.

We are still collecting pants, shirts, blouses, leggings, socks, underwear, belts and shoes for men and women. We need mostly small and medium items and shoes size 10 and smaller. All items should be new or gently used. They may be left off at the Church Office or you may call Pastor Jim O’Neal at (602) 579-3490 to arrange a pickup.
Also, the International Rescue Committee Center is in urgent need of more volunteers. They are seeing several hundred asylum seekers and refugees each day. Volunteers are needed for a wide variety of tasks including transportation, sorting donations, translators (Spanish or Portuguese) and medical assistance.
