PRESENTATIONS

A. 2023-2024 Audit Report - S&B CPAs & Associates, PLLC

Jay with S&B CPAs & Associates, PLLC, provided a comprehensive overview of the 2023-2024 Audit for Piedmont Public Schools. He shared that overall it was a good audit, and their team enjoyed working with our staff.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

No public participation.


BUSINESS ITEMS

A. The board approved the 2023-2024 Audit.

B. The board approved the job description for School-Based Family Specialist.

C. The board approved the contract with the Canadian County Board of Commissioners for the School-Based Family Specialist program (20% reimbursement)

D. The board approved the contract with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for School-Based Family Specialist program (80% reimbursement)

E. The board approved the compensation schedule for the School-Based Family Specialist.

F. The board approved the following adoptions, revisions, consolidations, and deletions of duplicate policies:

  • 1. DABB-R Notification To Superintendent of Arrest of School Employee - Adoption
  • 2. GA Flag Displays - Adoption


CONSENT AGENDA

The board approved all consent agenda items A-O.


FINANCIAL REPORT

Ms. Jennifer Fuller, Chief Financial Officer, provided a financial report to the board.


EXECUTIVE SESSION

The board did not convene into executive session.


ACTION ITEM

A. The board unanimously approved employment as listed in Attachment C of the board agenda.

B. The board approved the re-employment of district and site administrators as listed on Attachment B.


EXECUTIVE SESSION

The board did convene into executive session for the following:

  1. Conducting an ongoing evaluation of the Superintendent pursuant to 25 O.S. § 307 (B) (1).
  2. Discussion of possible purchase and acquisition of real property. 25 O.S. § 307(B)(3)

The board returned to open session at 8:16 p.m.

No new business.


SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

Dr. Eichelberger celebrated the outstanding achievements of the Piedmont Wrestling program, recognizing two state champions—Jackson Blackburn and our first-ever female state champion wrestler, Makaylee Cannon. Additionally, he highlighted the excellence of Wrestling Head Coach Erik Ford, who was named the 6A Wrestling Coach of the Year.

He also acknowledged our exceptional School Site Teacher of the Year honorees:

  • Early Childhood Center: Jenna Smith (School Counselor)
  • Northwood Elementary: Angie Dial (Pre-K)
  • Piedmont Elementary: Parke Penington (2nd Grade)
  • Stone Ridge Elementary: Lacey Bates (Reading Support Teacher)
  • Piedmont Intermediate: Hanin Shawareb (6th Grade)
  • Middle School of Piedmont: Erin Fluman (Middle School Math)
  • Piedmont High School: Jennie Ludwig (FACS)

In addition, he shared exciting district news, including Mrs. Amy Bixler’s selection as a peer reviewer for literacy grant applications by the Oklahoma State Department of Education—We are thankful for her expertise and the impact she has on our district!


Dr. Eichelberger also provided an update on enrollment numbers and reinforced our district’s Mission, Vision and Core Values, reminding everyone of what we believe in.


Lastly, he encouraged support for DUCK Week, sharing a schedule of participating restaurants and day/evening events throughout the week to help support this meaningful cause.
