This coming week, the Discovery Band will open our Preservice music with two songs. The first selection, requested by members of our congregation, will be Oceans by Hillsong. Oceans is a song about stepping out in faith, inspired by Peter walking on the water toward Jesus. It teaches us to step out in faith while keeping our eyes focused on Jesus. Following that, they will play and sing Build My Life, from Pat Barrett. Build My Life centers on Christ's worthiness and his unshaking love. They will close our service with We Believe, recorded by Newsboys, which is actually from our Apostles' Creed, a reading we often share in our service. This song moves us from trust to devotion and to a bold declaration of the faith handed down to us through the generations.
Friends, the Discovery Band needs a drummer. Gary Arthur has played drums with us for several years, but he has been driving quite a distance each week for rehearsals and the Sunday church service. This has become no longer viable for him. We will miss him and wish him
only the very best.
If you play the drums, consider joining us. If you know someone who plays, please mention this opportunity to them. The work is not hard, and the pay is nonexistent, but the reward is great!
No Purchase Is Necessary, but You Do Need To Be Present To Win.
Thank you so much, Don Ogle (434) 515-3101.

CONNECTION SESSIONS BEGIN SOON
Spring Connection Sessions are right around the corner, and this season is shaping up to be awesome! These small, welcoming groups are all about learning, laughing, and growing together, on campus or off. And the heart of it all is people like you, who are willing to share a skill, a passion, or just a fun hobby! Doesn't matter if you are a seasoned pro or if you love something enough to teach it to others; we need you! Whether it's creative arts, life skills, movement and outdoors, faith and fellowship, or just getting together for a book club or a trip to the movies together, it can be whatever you make it to be! If you are willing to lead a small group, please let Michelle White know asap. She can be reached @ 434-401-8868

Heritage UMC & Special Olympics Area 24: Growing a Ministry of Joy and Inclusion.
UMC is grateful for our ongoing partnership with Special Olympics Area 24, which serves athletes from Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell County, Nelson County, and Lynchburg City. This relationship continues to open doors for fellowship, encouragement, and Christ-centered community with these remarkable athletes.
On Saturday, March 21st, we are hosting an Easter Celebration in our Discipleship Center for SO athletes and their families. It will be a joyful time of games, fellowship, and celebration as we continue building relationships with these wonderful neighbors.
How can you support SO? On Wednesday, March 25th, Jersey Mike's will donate 100% of their profits for that whole day to Special Olympics. Every dollar will stay in the State where you eat that day!! Your meal becomes a blessing to local athletes, so please make it a point to stop at Jersey Mike's and show your support.
Our long-term goal is to create a welcoming pathway to Christ for SO athletes through the ministries of HUMC. To make this possible, we need a few more helping hands. We are currently seeking two additional volunteers to assist athletes with pickleball and to help during their events.
Your presence can make a meaningful difference--one smile, one game, one moment of encouragement at a time. Please see Dale Garrett if you have the time and are willing to make a difference.
To donate, please make your check out to HUMC and note, "Special Olympics" in the bottom left corner of your check.

Welcome Center on Sunday Mornings!
We are seeking volunteers to help with our Sunday morning hospitality. On Sunday mornings, snacks, coffee, and water are available in the Welcome Center before each service. Pre-packaged snacks are readily available and should be supplemented with fresh items you can easily pick up at your local grocery store. Folks who sign up need to have the Welcome Center ready at 8:45 and clean up after the worship service. More volunteers are needed to buy and put out the snacks on Sunday mornings, make the coffee, and clean up after the worship service (typically takes 15 minutes). More specific directions will be posted in the hospitality kitchen off the narthex. If you can help with hospitality this way, please click the link below.

HUMC Stewardship Campaign -Turn in your Pledge Cards by April 1st
The HUMC 2026 Stewardship Campaign has begun! We finished 2025 with a net gain of $2,623, with our highest receipts in over 7 years! We also fully paid our apportionments for the first time since 2022!
That’s because of your generosity and your commitment to continuing to do God’s work of Feeding People and Changing Lives. We remain a congregation that gives of our treasures, our time, and our talents!
In that spirit, it is time to continue Dreaming God’s Dream for HUMC. No gift is too small. No dream Too Big.
Fill out the attached pledge card by April 1st. You can place it in the offering plate or drop it in the box on the way out of service, or drop it by the church office during the week when convenient for you.
Will you take a step up in your commitment in 2026? Just know that any and every contribution you make, no matter the size, makes an enormous difference for our church and community.
Thank you for all you do to serve Heritage United Methodist Church!
