How does one experience God’s “oneness”?  What does it mean that we are created (t’dselma/Elohim) in God’s image?  And what were God’s reasons for creating us, not only in His image, but also to live and serve as co-creators?  What is it that we are to create, and does that creative activity include ourselves?  Or, must we first seek out and maintain a more personal relationship with our creator?  And if we are at a loss as to how to find ourselves in this demanding journey, being lost,  as we are, what is a first step in beginning the journey? Well, we need  to be open and accepting of the fact that your initiative is God-sent.  That’s helpful and frightening at the same time.  Everyone of the prophets first refused God’s calling.  Their acceptance of God’s  call included the assurance that God would tell them  what to say when the times arose.  In the meantime they were to know that God would protect them, and empower them in all that they were asked to do.  In these times of trial and stress they were invited to “cling to God” (“Devekut”).  Yahveh’s ever Nearness is a signal of those divine interventions that are  comforting, challenging and fearful. Another first step is the hunger for self-knowing.  This consciousness is so-like God’s own search for self-identity.  The  thousand years it took the Hebrews to complete the Tanakh (the Old Testament) suggest that this period was a demanding one even for El Donnai.  Our own search for wholeness, to be fully who God created us to be, as complete “selves”, yet as God’s sometimes reluctant servants, but always  as co-residents of God’s kingdoms, and as co-journors with the  Almighty. The journey is itself the goal.  And what is that goal?  It is to bring into consciousness as much of the unconscious, the living spirit of God within us, into consciousness.  We will struggle with these divine promises in our study group.

Prayer List Has Renewed for Lent

The parish prayer list has renewed for the Lenten season. If you or a loved one would like to be included on the list, please contact the parish office to update pastoral information and the nature of the prayer request. We will be renewing the prayer list in accordance with the liturgical seasons of the church.

New Online Giving Platform Launched

The Cathedral has launched its new online giving platform, Realm, which also serves as our new database.

If you are interested in establishing monthly or weekly recurring gifts for your 2023 Pledge or other outreach gifts, now is the time to do so.

Please see the link here to be able to access our giving page.

Please note, Realm is not where you make your pledge. Realm is where you will schedule payment of your pledge in whatever increments you might like to do. That could be weekly, monthly, or in one lump sum payment. As you set up your recurring gift, or one time gift please look at those options and make sure the amount that you enter is what you want withdrawn each week or each month.
