State Legislators Tour Key Campus

The AZ Legislative session is in full swing, which means Keys to Change advocacy season is in full swing, too.

Because we have a ground-floor view of the systems, and how they work (and don't), we use our voice to advocate for systems change at every level.

We're grateful for the elected officials who showed up last week to tour the programs and facilities at Key Campus!

Did your rep make it out for the tour? Check here.

Surprise! Project Connect was a major hit

Project Connect Photo Gallery

Thanks to a truly collaborative outreach effort from Keys to Change, Community Bridges, and the City of Surprise, 80 of our neighbors currently experiencing or at risk of homelessness received real-time services and hands-on support at the February 2025 Project Connect event in Surprise, AZ.

At each event, we ask guests to rate their experience. The average overall rating from 80 exit surveys was 4.8 out of 5. We're encouraged, but not surprised!

"When people come to Project Connect, I want them to feel seen," says repeat volunteer Roxanna from Invitation Homes. "Everybody's somebody, and everyone is important."

Project Connect truly is a day for human connection - a time for staff, guests, and volunteers to focus on our commonalities, and to show up as humans, first and foremost.

It's also a day for real-time service connections - here are some of the successes from the February event!

  • Three guests ended their homelessness.
  • A guest reconnected with their clinic to celebrate one year sober.
  • Two pet companions received vaccinations from Chance Shelter.
  • One guest had their license restored on-site with the MVD after several years without a license.

Thank you to everyone who made Project Connect Surprise such a successful and meaningful event!

Pretty in Pink

Did you know? Color coding breaks down barriers.

How, you might ask? It's all about accessibility!

These bold colors, chosen in partnership with a research team from ASU, will make the buildings at Key Campus instantly recognizable, easy to describe, and more visibly accessible across languages, literacy levels, and degrees of cognition and eyesight.

The colors are also shown to boost moods and inspire optimism. In short, we're creating an environment where more things feel possible. Follow along for construction updates: Keys to Change on Facebook
