Dear Maria Community,

As you no doubt have seen there have been many developments with the Covid-19 situation in our area. Please read through this email as there are numerous updates for our community.

For Students:

Maria College’s decision to extend spring break through March 22, 2020 was done with the health and safety of our students in mind. Some further guidance on this extended spring break:

  • The college will be closed to students during this time. All in-person classes scheduled for this time period will be suspended (including weekend college)

  • If you are a student and have a pressing need to be on campus during this time, please contact student affairs at 518-861-2505 to have a conversation before coming to campus.

  • Off-campus components of the educational experience (nursing clinicals, OTA fieldwork, and internships) will go forward as planned, and have not been suspended by the college for the week of March 16-22nd.

  • Individual sites and partner organizations may have cancelled site access for students on a case-by-case basis – your clinical coordinator or fieldwork coordinator will have more information if that is the case and will be reaching out to you.

  • From Student Financial Services: Starting Friday 13th we have transitioned to mailing paper refund checks to students. Please take this time to sign up for direct deposit through the NelNet portal or verify the mailing address on file with the college is accurate. All Federal aid disbursements will continue as scheduled.

  • Please watch your email and the website next week for further instructions and guidance from Student Financial Services.

IF YOU’RE NOT FEELING WELL:
Please communicate with the appropriate personnel at Maria ( see the website ) if you need to report any Coronavirus exposure.

  • New York has established a COVID-19 Hotline, which can provide additional information. Call 1-888-364-3065 with questions or concerns.

  • People are being asked to phone ahead to their primary care provider before visiting an office or hospital to seek treatment.

  • If someone in your household tests positive, please also share that information with Andrew.

Anyone with questions about these steps are asked to contact Andrew Ledoux at [email protected] or 518-861-2505
