Dear Neighbors,

March 14th, 2022 FOW Meeting
We invite all community members to join us this coming Monday, 7:30pm, on Zoom, for our third FOW General Business Meeting of 2022!

Please RSVP here

Additionally here are a number of community issues and Meetings that residents should be in the know on:
Open Space Referendum - Looking for Help
Friends of Worcester is committed to getting an Open Space Referendum on the Ballot.

We believe residents deserve the chance to get a vote during an Election on whether to establish a dedicated Township Fund for Open Space.

Voters in neighboring Whitpain will be voting on a Referendum question this year.

We think our Supervisors should have conversations at their Meetings in the coming months about moving forward with an Open Space Referendum for the November 2022 Election.

That's why we are looking for residents to communicate their interest in having an Open Space Referendum be an Agenda item at an upcoming Supervisors this Spring.

Would you like to get a chance to vote on establishing a Worcester Open Space Fund?

If you have any interest, and would be willing to provide an email or public comment expressing support to the Supervisors, please let us know. The more residents who speak up on this issue, the better.
Proposed Water Tower - Trooper Road
The North Penn Water Authority is seeking to condemn a portion of the Techni-Tool property on Trooper Road, to put in a 132' high water tank.

There are concerns about the visual impact of installing a water tower at that height, and the impact it might have on Worcester's character.

Water infrastructure decisions often connect with the issues of growth and future development, and we wanted to make the community aware this is being considered in Worcester.

We will discuss this more at our Business Meeting on Monday, and will keep track of the discussion at the Zoning Hearing Meeting on the 22nd.
Towamencin Sewer Issue
Towamencin Township is exploring a potential sale of its public sewer system to a private company.

This system directly serves the Milestone development, and other portions of Worcester along the Morris Road corridor.

This issue will be a topic of conversation at the Towamencin Supervisors Meeting this coming Wednesday evening, March 9th, 7pm.

There will also be some upcoming Town Halls in Towamencin on this issue soon.

Worcester residents seeking more information can attend these Meetings, and public comment is welcome if you have input you'd like to give as the proposed privatization of the Towamencin Sewer system is being considered.

Since sewer systems are public infrastructure, it is valuable for community members to be informed on the proposed sale and potential for excessive rate hikes that often result from privatization.
Palmer - Save the Dates
The Palmer issue will be before the Zoning Hearing Board next on April 26th, 6:30pm, at Community Hall.

They will continue to present their case seeking to overturn Worcester's Zoning and have their property rezoned entirely commercial, which would bring over-develoment to the heart of the Township.

Please save this date in your calendars.

To support the effective but costly, ongoing legal defense against the Palmer Challenge, the Worcester Residents for Thoughtful Development (WRTD) will be hosting a "Brewing Worcester Unity" community fundraiser on April 29th, at the Worcester Golf Club.

This event will feature beer tasting, golf, games, and an opportunity to meet neighbors.

In addition to saving this date on your calendar too, please know that signs are are still available, and you can contact WRTD if you would like one.

The GoFundMe in support of the legal defense remains active as well, if you would like to build on the positive fundraising momentum with an online contribution.

Sincerely,
Friends of Worcester
