Kiwanis is changing how we are doing Purcell's Easter Egg Hunt this year, because of COVID. We have decided instead of having the regular hunt, where the kids find the eggs, we are going to hand out bags with eggs in them to the children. We will have vehicles, located in the parking lot of the Purcell Multipurpose Center, 1400 Chandler Park Rd, with the bags for each age group. The age groups will be 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Once the child gets their bag, they can look in their eggs and if they have a prize egg, they can take it to the vehicle with their age group and collect their prize. We request that masking and social distancing be observed. The 2021 Easter Eggstravaganza will be on April 3rd. It will start at 9 am and end when all the bags have been handed out. A child must be present to get a bag.
Eggstravaganza

RIBBON CUTTING FOR THE GIVENS GRATITUDE HOUSE
About them:
The Givens Gratitude House is a Christian-based, sober living home for men recovering from addiction. The Gratitude House offers a structured living environment, accountability, and a strong support system with a unique brotherhood in an effort to support the transition to living a life of sobriety. The Gratitude House currently houses 12 men and fundraising efforts are underway to increase capacity to 20 beds.
The House is located at 223 N. 4th St in Purcell, OK. The house was established in May, 2019 and is owned and managed by Jerry Givens. After struggling with addiction and alcoholism for many years, Jerry went to Rob’s Ranch Treatment Facility and his life was changed. He left Rob’s Ranch with a relationship with Christ and found his purpose in life, helping other men and women struggling with addiction to find the help they need.
Touch of gratitude

For a dozen men in Purcell, gratitude is more than sentiment. It is a stopping place on individual journeys to recovery. It is a haven; it is their home. Jerry Givens lived with addiction for 15 years. Rob's Ranch, a residential rehab for men...
