HSC Announces New Associate Executive Director

Letticia “Tish” Brown-Gambino is a seasoned housing and homeless service professional. A passionate change agent with interests including professional learning and development, racial equity, program design, community outreach, and advocacy. Letticia comes to Arizona from Connecticut as an experienced licensed professional counselor and program officer with a long career in preventing and ending homelessness. She has over two decades of experience as a leader of housing and community services for national organizations such as the YMCA, and Catholic Charities, developing and managing supportive housing, rapid re-housing, and shelter programs.

Letticia earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire and her master’s degree in counseling psychology at Southern Connecticut State University. Letticia is licensed as a Professional Counselor in Connecticut and Arizona. 

Please join us in welcoming Tish to the HSC Team where she will be responsible for leading the collective impact model on the Campus, working with partners to continuously improve the service delivery system for people experiencing homelessness.

Project Connect in Tempe a Great Success

Project Connect is a one-day event offering wrap-around services to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Project Connect meets people where they are with essential services, from state identification to housing placement. The event takes places in a different Valley location every 4-6 weeks. 

On Tuesday, March 14, 85 volunteers served nearly 150 guests at the University Presbyterian Church (UPC) in Tempe. We are so grateful for UPC, the City of Tempe and all the Campus/community partners and volunteers who helped make this event successful! And we are especially thankful for all the guests who were able to receive life-changing services as they work to end their homelessness.

Seeing the Campus in person is THE best way to understand the day-to-day work done by the collective of 16 organizations working together to end homelessness. The first Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am we offer tours of the 13-acre Campus. The next tour is April 5th.

Season 2, Episode 6 of "It Happens at STN"

The March episode of It Happens at STN features a different perspective for how new businesses can obtain capital and a trip to the only Black-owned business in a major mall.

It also takes a look at an eye-opening report on the status of Latino education in Phoenix, and the role social standing plays in educational opportunities and success.

Two local leaders share their individual journeys of how they used powerful and sometimes painful lessons from the past to push them to lead and help others.

Plus, a look at recent good news in the fight against homelessness balanced against potential pitfalls, and an important reality check when it comes to Arizona’s water supply.
