Making Plans for Bottle Tree & Garden Tour

…..The Bottle Tree & Garden Tour Planning Committee kicked off brainstorming last week for this year’s Tour, set for Saturday, June 14. The group met at the home of Morgan Yeates, who will be hosting the evening event. Pictured from left, Nellie Neal, Randy Heffner, Alison Gilbert, Morgan Yeates, Kayleigh Skinner who is event chair, and Buddy Graham. The Pig & Pint

named most iconic

…..Tasting Table named The Pig & Pint the most iconic sandwich shop in Mississippi

…..Scott Jackson and Grant Hutcheson opened The Pig & Pint in March 2014 . They wanted to bring competition-style barbecue to the capitol community , and the menus is chock full of smoked meat, homestyle sides and desserts and craft beer.

…..”It is primarily a BBQ spot known for its delicious smoked meats stuffed into enormous sandwiches. While pork, chicken, or brisket BBQ sandwiches are the hero of the menu , try The Fried Baloney; thick-cut baloney with a fried egg, cheese, dress, and pickles, or The Bacon Melt; Texas toast, brisket, smoked pork belly, Swiss cheese, and collard greens," they wrote.

…..There’s also a Fried Green Tomato BLT, wings, tacos, nachos, Fondren Fries and more to try.

…..Over the past 10 years, The Pig & Pint has been voted by The Clarion Ledger as Jackson’s Best Barbecue 10 times, Mississippi Magazine’s Best Barbecue in Mississippi four of the last five years and has been featured numerous times on television’s The Food Network and The Travel Channel.
