TENURE TRACK POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

Assistant Professor of English

The Department of Humanities at Harris-Stowe State University is seeking to fill the tenure track position of Assistant Professor of English.   The successful candidate must possess an earned doctorate in English from an accredited university and have at least two years of teaching experience at the College or University level. Duties will include teaching courses in a class room or online format.  The successful candidate must be available to teach day, night or weekend classes.  The winning candidate will be expected to participate in program review and make necessary revisions.  He or she will be also be expected to mentor and advise senior level students. The normal teaching load is 4-4, with scholarly productivity and service expected. Courses will include upper-level classes in area of specialization, and two courses in a first-year writing sequence. We especially welcome candidates with interests in our humanistic core curriculum which will explore issues of African American literature, diversity, media literacy, global awareness, and social justice.  The position will start in August 2016.
