Dear Maria Community,

Here is the latest information on the College’s response to the dynamic Covid-19 situation.

Administration :
  • Out of concern for the well-being of our Maria Community, Maria College is encouraging all employees to work remotely beginning tomorrow, March 19th.

  • Service delivery will continue without interruption to students from the administrative offices and resources they rely on, and the remainder of this week will be spent setting up remote systems and services.

  • Please see the note below about campus access during this time.

Student Support Services:

  • The Department of Student Affairs will continue to provide academic, personal, and spiritual support services to students as we transition to a fully-online learning and service delivery. The Department is responding to students remotely with offices reachable by email and phone. Students can direct any questions to studentaffairs@mariacollege.edu

  • A technology survey is being issued to all students at this time. Students are encouraged to participate in a brief survey about their technological needs and access to devices and internet connection.

  • It is vital that we understand the technology access capabilities of all of our students. If you have technology needs please email Assistant Dean of Students Jon Coller at jcoller@mariacollege.edu

Campus Access Update:

  • Beginning March 19, Campus buildings will be accessible to faculty and staff but under different security protocols. The main entry doorway on the Main Building will be unlocked. All other buildings will be locked. Keys and swipe cards will work.

  • If you are a faculty or staff member and need entry to a building and do not have keys or a swipe card, you can call security at 518-376-0690 to request access.

  • After leaving any building on campus, faculty and staff are instructed to contact security (at the number above) so they can communicate to the cleaning crews for the rooms used to be cleaned and disinfected.

  • Thank you for following this protocol at this time.

  • Students should have no need to come to campus at this time as many of the services are functioning remotely. Students are asked to contact Student Affairs if they would like to discuss access to campus.

IF YOU’RE NOT FEELING WELL:

Please communicate with the appropriate personnel at Maria (see the website) if you need to report any Coronavirus exposure.

  • New York has established a COVID-19 Hotline, which can provide additional information. Call 1-888-364-3065 with questions or concerns.
  • People are asked to phone ahead to their primary care provider before visiting an office or hospital to seek treatment
  • If you have been told to self-quarantine, or if a member of your household is doing that, please let Andrew Ledoux know
  • If someone in your household tests positive, please also share that information with Andrew.

Anyone with questions about these steps are asked to contact Andrew Ledoux at DLedoux@mariacollege.edu or 518-861-2505
