A Note from the Principal's Desk...

Greetings,

As we complete the first few days of virtual learning we are still trying to find the best way to continue the curriculum with accountability and feedback to students and parents. We met as a faculty two weeks ago to begin thinking about how we would go about virtual learning. We certainly did not expect a call last Friday afternoon at 2:45 pm cancelling school and starting virtual learning. Our students were not even able to take home the necessary materials to do so. Our faculty now must act without time. Nobody expected this to hit as hard and fast as it did. But it is what it is and we need to move forward.

We are meeting as a faculty tomorrow (Friday) and we will share ideas and use of technology to have that personal contact with classes and individual students. Students are on different levels of ability and capability in technology so we have to be careful not to overwhelm them and create a lack of confidence. They too are on that learning curve. As Principal I have been receiving emails and notifications from teachers on what they are doing. I have also received feedback from parents as well. Teachers have been available everyday from 8 am to 2 pm and students/parents can contact them at anytime. I have a couple of teachers that are really taking off with this virtual learning and we will be able to share those experiences at tomorrow's meeting.

I ask that you have patience. I am confident that this virtual learning will improve weekly and certainly will prepare our students for future online learning in high school, college and beyond.

We ask everyone to remember that John 14:27 tells us "Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." We are all in this together! There is no issue that cannot be resolved or challenge that we cannot overcome if we faithfully work together.  Please visit the COVID-19 Situation Page on the school’s website for additional information by clicking HERE .

Sincerely,
Principal
Prayer in Time of Pandemic
Bishop McManus has asked that we join him in the following  Prayer in Time of Pandemic  and that you do so every day until this health crisis has passed.

O God, whose Only Begotten Son bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation, hear the prayers of your Church for our sick brothers and sisters and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son: Be not afraid, for I am with you always.
Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God protect you and your loved ones through this time of trial.
Don't forget to follow us!
