Dale Carnegie Free Workshop: Employee Engagement
Monday, March 25, 5:30 - 7:30pm
Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce
300 E University Ave, Suite 100, Gainesville

Building an engaged workforce isn't easy. If it were, you and everyone else would have it already: a workforce that is exceeding productivity goals, bubbling up innovations, and driving ever-increasing profitability with extremely low employee turnover. Yet after more than a decade of investment in employee engagement initiatives, many organizations have little or nothing to show for it.

The key to driving employee engagement starts with your leaders and depends on those leaders making engagement a daily priority.Engaged employees are the new competitive edge, but driving meaningful engagement improvement has been elusive for many organizations. Join us for this workshop and see what others have been missing in the employee engagement equation.

Why You Will Want to Learn it

Leaders at every level are the biggest determining factor of their team's willingness to go the extra mile or even stay with your company. Dale Carnegie’s most recent research found that managers are more likely to have engaged teams when they make engaging them a daily priority. In this workshop you’ll learn what managers can do every day, and in every interaction, to make their employees more emotionally and intellectually committed to the organization.
This is an employee engagement workshop designed to provide you with the tools necessary to create a value-driven culture that will raise confidence levels and make employees feel valued, connected, and empowered to achieve higher levels of performance.
Dance Alive National Ballet presents
The Choreographic Work of the Dancer
Choreographic Workshop
June 19 - 21, 9am - 5pm
Pofahl Studios
1325 NW 2 Street, Gainesville

Brian Carey Chung, new Resident Choreographer of Dance Alive National Ballet, will be conducting a three day workshop for intermediate and advanced dancers age 12 and up.

According to Mr. Chung, the thrust of the workshop “is that the dancer is not merely a mover, but a thinking divining collaborator to the choreographer.  It will push the dancer to understand that this is very necessary for success in the field.”

Mr. Chung is the founder and artistic director of Collective Body Dance Lab, a New York City project-based creative think tank for the production and performance of new dance. He danced with LINES Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Ballet Hispanico of NY, and Armitage Gone! Dance where he was principal dancer, rehearsal director and assistant choreographer to Karole Armitage. He has taught on the faculties of LINES Ballet/SF Dance Center, PeridanceCapezio Center, Broadway Dance Center, and Joffrey Ballet School where he continues to teach most summers. He was an Assistant Professor of Ballet at Northern Illinois University and has guest lectured and taught masterclasses internationally at NYU TISCH, Stanford University, University of Hawaii, and University of Arizona, among others. Brian is also working on his first book of poems and is planning a new work of choreography for DANB in 2019.

Colliers International Northeast Florida Announces New Gainesville Office
Dan Drotos to lead firm’s presence in North Central Florida

Colliers International Northeast Florida today announced the expansion of its regional presence into Alachua County with the appointment of Dan Drotos as Senior Director of the firm’s Gainesville operations. Drotos is joined by Executive Director Mike Ryals and Associate Director Rory Causseaux.

Drotos and his colleagues, who previously operated as The Drotos Ryals Group, bring more than 80 years of combined commercial real estate, civil
engineering and development experience in the Gainesville market to Colliers International Northeast Florida.

The addition of the firm’s Gainesville office represents Colliers International Northeast Florida’s third major talent acquisition in North Florida in the past year. “Gainesville is a rapidly growing market with a unique commercial real estate sector. Dan and his team have proven to be at the forefront of that growth, with deep connections in the community and decades of experience in the industry,” said Managing Director Christian Oldenburg. “By pairing their extensive local knowledge with Colliers International’s global reach and resources, Dan and his team will remain the market leaders for commercial clients in Gainesville and North Central Florida.”

Drotos most recently served as the Vice President of Bosshardt Realty Services, where he was a partner in The Drotos Ryals Group — one of Gainesville’s top-producing commercial real estate teams with more than $1 billion in transactions since its original inception in 1987. Drotos earned his Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) degree from the University of Florida and holds multiple professional designations, including Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). He is involved in several civic and nonprofit groups, such as the Ronald McDonald House of North Central Florida, First Federal Bank and Leadership Gainesville.

“This transition not only marks a significant advancement in our team’s ability to serve the Gainesville business community with their commercial real estate needs, but also raises the bar locally to a level of professionalism and service not seen before in Alachua County,” said Drotos. “Together with Mike and Rory, I look forward to pairing the scale and resources of Colliers International with our
local knowledge and expertise, derived over decades of experience, for the benefit of our client base who share our commitment to preserving Gainesville’s distinctive identity while contributing to its economic growth and prosperity.”
For more than 30 years, Ryals has served as Senior Vice President at Bosshardt Realty Services, where he led the Commercial and Land Division.
He is a fifth-generation Floridian and lifelong Gainesville resident who has served on multiple local boards and service organizations. In his new role at Colliers International Northeast Florida, Mike will serve the team primarily in a support and advisory
capacity. Prior to joining Colliers International Northeast Florida, Causseaux was a Commercial Realtor with Bosshardt Realty Services.

He has more than 35 years of professional consulting experience in the areas of civil engineering and land development for projects in the multifamily, single-family, commercial, retail, office, industrial and institutional sectors. He earned a Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Florida and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Causseaux is active in several community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Gainesville, Westside Baptist Church, Westside Foundation, the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, CenterState Bank and the Climb for Cancer Foundation.
