MESSAGE FROM WSCA PRESIDENT, TONY PARKER
|
WSCA President Tony Parker CEC, ACE MARCH 2014 It has been a very busy March from the Western Regionals in Oakland to getting ready for the upcoming Beef Seminar at RTC. Time has just slipped by. I know that I am not the only one that finds him or herself wondering where time has gone. It seems to be the most common question in today's world and especially in our profession. Too often we put our heads down and work towards a goal or a dream. When we eventually raise our heads back up, we are shocked by find that years have gone by. I have learned that to stay healthy of mind and body you need to do more than just work. You need to laugh, to love, friendships and to experience life outside of work. This is my prescription for a "Happy Chef" - "Quality of Life" is a great statement, but it is only a statement if you don't make it a personal priority in your life. Our chapter goal this year is to increase our membership; specifically those professional chefs, which with a little motivation, will look up and join an organization that is all about the education of young culinarians; building chefs for the future. Keep this in mind - when you are dining out and see the Chef or Sous Chef don't be shy about inviting them to a meeting or dinner. Bite of the Apprentice Scholarship Dinner Don't forget to make a reservation online for the Bite of the Apprentice Scholarship dinner on April 14, 2014. View more details on the webpage.
