Development
Help us help the hungry in our community.

CRS is committed to playing a role in New York City's fight against hunger. Through two key initiatives of our Social Action Committee, CRS lends an important Jewish voice to this critical work. Your philanthropic support is essential and deeply appreciated.

 Food Drive

Through our Food Drive, CRS extends a hand to local programs that are fighting the hunger crisis every day.  Through contributions to the Food Drive, we have allocated over half a million dollars since 2007 to support local organizations struggling to reduce hunger in New York City, including West Side Campaign Against Hunger, our local food pantry. To learn more about the programs CRS supports through our Food Drive and to make a donation, click here

Backpack Buddies

Did you know that nearly one in four New York City children are food insecure? These children, many living on the Upper West Side, often go hungry on the weekends, when no school meal is available to keep them fed. Through our Backpack Buddies program, we pack and deliver 70 backpacks full of food for the weekends to children at three locations. To learn more about the Backpack Buddies program click here and to make a donation click here.
