What an amazing and fruitful mission's week!
This month's e-newsletter is dedicated to the Mission's Trip that All Nations hosted together with the mission's team from the Church of the Harvest in Olathe, Kansas. Highlighted are each day's events and a link to see some cool pictures from each day. Each day was amazing and there is so much to see. We hope you will take a few moments and enjoy the moment's with us from this transforming week of Missions.
|
|
|
Day 1: Monday March 13
(Arrival and Pastor's Service)
|
|
After departing out of Kansas City the team touched down in Atlanta with a short 45 minute layover with just enough time to catch the flight for Sāo Paulo, Brazil. After arriving in São Paulo, the transport van brought the team to their ministry destination of Campos do Jordāo. After arriving at base camp, the team unloaded, got settled and had a traditional Brazilian lunch. After lunch the team had a few hours to recoup from the long flight before heading out to the evening's city-wide pastors service that All Nations Hosted.
In missions anything can happen. After lunch on Monday Débora was informed that the venue we reserved two months ago for this pastor's event did not actually get reserved and another group was scheduled to meet in that space that night. Oh boy! We only found this out because the sound guy went there to set up and there was no record of our reservation. Débora called the city and they said that it would not be possible to have our event there that night. After a month of promotion, publicity and posting the event, what were we going to do?
We needed a miraculous intervention! God moved on the heart of a man at the city that Débora had spoken to. He said he would make it happen, even though the city rules require 2 months minimum advance reservation for the space.
(note: even though we did reserve the space two months prior, the man who was supposed to submit the proper papers on our behalf never did, so our reservation was forfeited and we never knew it.) The man said he would personally handle the matter. He made arrangements for the other group to relocate and pushed our paperwork through for approval.
AMAZING!
We had been told that the city's pastors had not gathered in over 4 years and that there was a lot of disunity and mistrust between pastors and churches. As an unknown outsider it would take a miracle of God to assemble the city's pastors. A month prior to the team's arrival we sent out flyers to invite pastors for a simple "meet and greet" at the city's chambers (neutral ground). 19 pastors came and we considered this a ground breaking breakthrough. From this event, we invited the pastors and began to publicize the pastor's service called "Leaders on Fire" that took place this first night of the Mission's Week. Over 100 came and we consider this another miracle and a breakthrough for the church community in Campos do Jordāo. Pastor David Frech preached an awesome message that connected with the pastors and church leaders at the service. The mission's team prayed for the many that came down to the front for prayer.

Day 2: Tuesday March 14
(Evangelism training / unpacking ministry supplies / youth service)
|
Jet lag is in full swing!
The week's ministry schedule was full and there was little time for rest. After breakfast we had 3 hours for a devotional, debriefing and evangelism training. After lunch the team unpacked the 10 suitcases of donations and supplies that they brought from Kansas City. Medical supplies and equipment (which were used for the medical outreach and for donation to the local hospital and clinics), candy, hygiene kits (450+), children's ministry supplies, clothes and more. After organizing all the donations and supplies the team began preparations for the next day's all-day ministry at an elementary school near the Monte Carlo neighborhood.

The evening's youth service was so impactful. The youth streamed to the altar for prayer. Their tears were met with the hugs and prayers of the mission's team. It was a transforming night for so many teens. Words truly fall short of what the Lord did. Check out the pictures of this night's service.

Day 3: Wednesday March 15
(All-day ministry at the elementary school)
|
To say this was a busy day would be an understatement. There were 330 plus kids at the school, broken down into morning and afternoon groups. In Brazil the kids go 1/2 days either AM or PM. The school allowed the mission's team full access for the whole day.
WOW!, what a miracle! We don't see this happening in the States.
Above two Photo's: Dr. Wells and Pr. Traci Frech spoke to the parents in two parent assemblies (morning and afternoon). They spoke to the parents on the realities and struggles of family life and encouraged them with keys to engaging in successful family life. As well, they spoke on the struggles and challenges that both kids and families face with drugs and alcohol. They gave them life experience testimonies and tools for success. The parents were blessed!
--------
We separated the mission's team into 4 groups. 1) drugs and alcohol
2) Hygiene (mind, body and soul) 3) Face painting & paper airplanes 4) Life lessons through story time & music.
Each group taught the kids for 30 minutes in 12 sessions. For a total of 48 sessions being taught in the day.
Above Left: At the end of the day, the kitchen
staff asked for prayer. After sharing the
message of salvation, they all wanted & prayed
to receive Jesus as their savior, AMEN!
Above Right: Throughout the day, everyone of
the 330+ children had hands laid on them and prayed for in Jesus name.
|
Day 4: Thursday March 16
(High school assembly / work day at soccer field / women's service)
|
|
A full day of ministry began at a local High School. Remember, in missions anything can happen! Well it did this morning. We arrived at the High School for an all school assembly for the 400+ teenagers that attend. Upon arrival, the principal did not know about the assembly and did not allow us to enter the property. We scheduled the assembly with the vice-principal and the information was never communicated with the principal.
We needed another MIRACLE on this morning. After some time waiting, he agreed to let us in. He gave us 15 minutes to visit a few classes in progress and say a quick hello. We quickly agreed believing God would open more doors. We split the team in two groups and we each got to visit two classrooms. Afterwards, the principal's heart softened and he wanted us now to speak to a group of kids that he was going to assemble in the lunch room. He gave us one hour to speak to the kids.
This was our open door MIRACLE!
Above two photos: Mike Mountain and Toni Simmons shared their testimonies and then we shared a short word about making the right choices. In the end 80+ kids prayed to make Jesus Christ Lord and Savor! PRAISE GOD!
It was amazing to see how the Lord redeemed this moment from when just a few hours prior we were initially turned away at the door and now God changed the story and
we got to share Christ with over 150 teenagers. The principal was so happy that he asked us to come back Monday morning for another assembly in which he would gather the other students that were not present.
The MIRACLE continues!
----------
The afternoon was a work-filled day at the Monte Carlo Soccer field.
Church of the Harvest generously supported the full efforts both financially and physically by being part of this project every step of the way.
This field sits in the valley of 7 poverty stricken neighborhoods with a combined population of 6K people. The generosity of the "American Missionaries" (as the team was known by the locals) and their church (Church of the Harvest) was a testimony that touched deeply the hearts of every inhabitant of this region and it was known literally throughout the whole city.
It cannot be overstated the testimony of the revitalization project had on this community and
the city government. One person said how they prayed for the past 40 years to see something like this happen.
One Facebook post read...
Really my friend it was of a very noble act, not only in the revitalization of an area, but more in people's lives. That's why I always say, even with all the difficulties, we need to have more faith and believe. In life everything is possible!

The renovation includes a new synthetic grass field (to be installed June 2017), a renovated gazebo with water, 1/2 court basketball, playground equipment for kids, gym equipment and bench seating for parents.

The day was finished with an impactful evening women's service. Pr. Traci Frech ministered to the hearts of the women, resulting with a deep impact on their lives.

Day 5: Friday March 17
(All-day medical clinic)
|
Photo Above: Medical Clinic at the Monte Carlo Soccer field
It was a full and coordinated effort with the city to bring this all-day medical clinic to the people of Monte Carlo. We held the event at the grounds of the newly renovated soccer field area. Around 100 people were seen by the Medical staff. The city staff said this was amazing considering it was a Friday and not on a weekend. The prayer tent was constantly utilized as several made decisions to give their lives to Jesus Christ. The team took every opportunity during the day ministering to both adults and children alike, playing basketball, soccer, doing face painting and balloon art.

Day 6: Saturday March 18
(Monte Carlo neighborhood ministry and
inauguration
celebration)
|
|
Saturday began with a time of ministry in the neighborhood of Monte Carlo. The team split up in two groups and we visited homes to pray with the people and share Jesus. 8 received Jesus as Savior, addicts were prayed for and some others were healed. What an amazing experience!

-------
Saturday's inauguration was held with high expectation in the community. We had amazing weather the whole week, but on the afternoon of the inauguration event,
the rain came down. Many were kept away due to the rain as most in this region walk. After being in the hills of the surrounding neighborhood earlier in the morning, we witnessed first hand the conditions. The way is steep and rain makes it treacherous to walk. Even though the majority were kept from coming, the field was dedicated as Pr. David prayed the dedication prayer. The local ballet, kid's choir from the elementary school and the elderly choir from the retirement home came along with others from the community to participate in the dedication of this renovated soccer field and family recreation area.
We promised the people we will come back for a redo. We will hold a true evangelistic healing and miracle crusade on these grounds after the synthetic grass is installed.
It will be AMAZING!

Day 7: Sunday March 19
(Sozo / free-time / evening church service
)
|
Sunday Morning after breakfast the team headed over to the property we are believing God to buy for the SOZO MOUNTAIN Children's Home. We spent a few moments in prayer believing that God will make a way financially for the vision and to possess this place for the rescue of orphaned children.

Photo Above Right: At the main gate.Pastor David was teaching on faith, possessing the promise and led the team in prayer to believe for the fruition of the vision of Sozo Mountain.
Campos do Jordāo is the highest elevated city in Brazil and this property is located at the highest elevated region in the city. AMAZING!

Jesus Said, "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved (Sozo). He will come in and go out, and find pasture." John 10:9
--------
Above Photo: Sunday Night Pr. David preached a powerful message about recovering that which was lost and taking hold of God's promise. The Word left a mark on the hearts of the congregation. The team ministered at the altar through prayer and loving on the people.
A BLESSED NIGHT!
|
Day 8: Monday March 20
(High School Assembly / Heading home
)
|
Photo Above: After an amazing week of ministry, it's the final day. Originally we had scheduled time in São Paulo to tour the big city before going to the airport. As a result of the High School Assembly on Thursday, the principal asked the team to come back before we headed out of town. He wanted to gather the students that were not part of Thursday's assembly. I
t was a Miracle of Miracles. Pastor David shared his testimony and
Jesus Christ was witnessed to a whole secular High school, declaring the message of salvation. Overall, 280+ students made the decision to pray and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior at the two assemblies.

This man came forward at the altar call for salvation during the inauguration celebration. As the rain fell, lives were coming to Christ and destinies being changed. God had something AMAZING for this man. After everyone had mostly gone home, his daughter (a nurse and the right hand director to the secretary of health) and the women who coordinated the medical clinic from the city's end came to ask for prayer for her father.
They said he had just gone through all the MRI's and associated tests for a scheduled double hip replacement surgery. He had been suffering from bone degeneration. In fact, he also had issues with both shoulder blades and could not raise either arm vertically for the past 7 years.
After prayer this man was completely healed and free of all pain. He semi-ran, lifted up his arms and could find no limitations in movement or pain. WOW! Not many were around to witness this miracle, but his daughter was and it will be a GREAT witness to the people of this city of the
Power of the Cross and the reality of our Salvation in Jesus Name.
This is what I call a GateKeeper miracle. It's where those who are well know in the community are divinely healed and all become aware that is was Jesus and the name of Jesus becomes famous throughout the city. AMEN!
This night, this man was both saved and healed. To God be all the Glory!

Restoration of the Soccer Field
|
Previously the field was mud and there was no place or infrastructure for families to congregate.
We installed a new 1/2 court basketball area, a playground for kids with a sand area. Added water to the gazebo with a counter and sink. As well, we put a new concrete floor and new roof to replace the leaking plastic covering.
Photo: New concrete floor in the gazebo
Photo: Kids play on the new playground
Photo: The kids using the new basketball area
Photo: Refurbished soccer goals and the kids are already at it.
Synthetic grass is being ordered (to be installed in May/June) and 20 benches are coming (1st week of April) and will be installed around the soccer field and playground area.
So much has been done and we say THANK YOU for everyone who has made this possible.
However, WE NEED A LITTLE MORE HELP to finish this project. We are short approx. $5,500. if you would like to help in anyway it would be a
GREAT BLESSING.
THANK YOU

Sophia did such an amazing job taking pictures for the mission's week. Utilizing the ministry's new camera, she captured some incredible moments.
Having her here with us in Brazil is the greatest joy. What a blessing!
|
Dr. Wells had his jacket stolen during the mission's week and his prescription glasses happened to be in the jacket's pocket. Fortunately, he had his prescription sunglasses that he used the rest of the week.
Along the way it appears he met his Brazilian counterpart.

God blessed our team with amazing local help.
Fatima who so lovingly prepared all the meals for the team.

So many people were involved in helping to make this Mission's week a success. Literally thousands of people were impacted in the city of Campos do Jordāo, Brazil.
Without the efforts of all involved it would not have been possible on this level to have experienced the city-wide success that the Mission's Week had. Jesus truly was exalted and made famous.
Photo: The kid's couldn't wait to open their hygiene kit and brush their teeth.
THANK YOU to everyone who gave financially, interceded with prayer and donated items for the ministry and donation.
Photo: handing out the hygiene kits.
Over 450 hygiene kits were
distributed to all 330 plus kids at the elementary school and to everyone who came to the all-day medical clinic.
This was a literal pioneering Mission's experience. We came to this city not knowing anyone. The Lord opened sovereign doors. The gates of the city were opened and we had favor among city and local officials, business and spiritual leaders and everyone in-between. Truly amazing!
It appears evident that the Lord had prepared this week for the foundational work and favor in the city for the fruition of Sozo Mountain to come to pass.
