Legislative Update
|
HB 184, HB 168 and SB 230
|
HB 184 - Allows metal commodities the same overweight tolerances on Kentucky roads that already apply to steel.
On Monday, the bill passed the House and now moved to the Senate where it faces an uncertain fate. Please contact Senator Ernie Harris, Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee and let him know you support HB 184. 502-564-8100, ext. 605.
HB 168 and SB 230 require a portion of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in-lieu-of-tax revenue that currently goes to the General Fund to be distributed to TVA counties.
This could mean an additional $130,000 for each county to be spent on economic development activities. On February 28th, both bills had informational hearings in the Senate and House Appropriations and Revenue Committees.
