Thanks to Prince William County for hosting the Native Plant Symposium for Beginners in Woodbridge on February 23. Attendees were able to learn more about the native plants of Virginia and how our communities can “Stop Mowing, Start Growing!” The day included a wonderful keynote address by Chris Ludwig, and an engaging panel discussion on meadows, native plants, wildlife habitat and forests. The afternoon break out sessions were led by leaders from Virginia Cooperative Extension, Prince William Soil & Water Conservation District, Prince William Wildflower Society, Prince William Conservation Alliance and Prince William Department of Public Works.
