Methodology Tailoring for Development Time Optimization
Speaker: Anthony Millán

The DARPA Adaptive Vehicle Make program proposed the META design flow – a method that integrates architecture development, detailed design, and performance analysis efforts using Model-Based Systems Engineering and a component model database – as a means to achieve a 5X reduction in complex system development time. This research tailored the ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 technical processes to incorporate the META design flow and extend it into an end-to-end Systems Engineering methodology.

Networking and Dinner at 6pm and FREE Lecture at 7pm
(Earn 1 PDU)
Location : Applied Physics Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University, 11100 Johns Hopkins Rd Laurel MD 20723 (Main Entrance – Lobby 1)

Meal : Corned Beef and Cabbage, Parsley potatoes, Green beans, served with garden salad, dressing, rolls and butter, dessert

Every month at our dinner meeting we have a drawing for the latest in Systems Engineering literature. So come on out for a chance to win. This month’s door prize is Effective Model-Based Systems Engineering     by John M. Borky, Thomas H. Bradley
President's POV
INCOSE - Chesapeake Chapter Modeling Complex Systems
Mr. Taras Alexander Mykytyn
The INCOSE Systems Engineering Vision - 2025 paper sets the foundation for rest of the year for the monthly President’s Point of View (POV) articles. February’s POV article covered the topic of Fostering Mentorship for STEM Students . This is extremely important in enhancing the education of the future systems engineering profession and enticing students to become more comfortable and active in STEM-related education and activities.

This is the monthly newsletter for INCOSE Chesapeake, a local chapter of INCOSE International. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a forum for professionals practicing the art and science of Systems Engineering in the Northern & Central Maryland & Southern Pennsylvania area
The Chesapeake Chapter is always looking for volunteers to speak at our upcoming meetings! Please contact our Programs Director if you would like the opportunity to speak or can recommend someone.
The Chesapeake Chapter of INCOSE is proud to recognize the following organizations for sponsoring our endeavors to expanding the understanding and appreciation of Systems Engineering in the local area:
This month’s article will focus on Modeling Complex System s, and why the SE and STEM community needs to step up their skills and expertise in understanding the driving requirements for complex systems, system and subsystem inter-dependencies, system-of-systems complexity, and future challenges for all industries. As the expansion of products and services go beyond local and country boundaries, to a more global solution space, SEs and STEM professionals need to think on a more broad and global scale to address these challenges.
Student STEM initiative at INCOSE Chesapeake Chapter
The chapter is seeking volunteers to participate at Maryland's two premier regional science fair events. We are looking to put together a couple of independent judging teams to determine and deliver monetary awards to Division I level participants at the Baltimore and Anne Arundel County regional science fairs on behalf of the INCOSE Chesapeake Chapter.

We’ll be sending out follow-ups and reminder information in early March timeframe to volunteers who respond. Please consider volunteering for one day or multiple. Send your contact info to  stem@incose-cc.org
