FACULTY SPOTLIGHT
Terri A. Higdon, MSN, RN
Assistant Professor
RN to BSN Program
School of Nursing
The Department of Distance Education would like to recognize Ms. Terri Higdon for creating an online “Faculty Lounge” for the new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) instructors.

Ms. Higdon is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She taught face-to-face courses for 10 years before coming to Austin Peay. When she began teaching fully online courses, she took it upon herself to better her pedagogy and learn about best practices for online teaching. She collected resources and created a repository in D2L to help other new BSN instructors get started teaching online.

A word from our spotlight:

"Creating the Faculty Lounge was just fun for me. Even though I have taught in nursing for years, I was brand new to online instruction. I knew that I had a lot to learn to become a more polished online instructor. As I set out to learn best practices and available resources for my own personal growth, I decided to put it into a format that other people could use as well. I have always found that one of the best ways to learn something is to teach it to someone else. Hopefully the Faculty Lounge will be a great resource for other new online nursing faculty and will help them to go further faster !" - Terri A. Higdon
