We need volunteers March 7-9

One of our Collegiate Challenge groups had to cancel unexpectedly and that leaves us with a gap for volunteers needed to build Kathryn's Havre de Grace home.

Thank you to building materials donors!
During the month of February, participants were invited to buy the actual materials needed to help two families build their homes Through the online platform Amp Your Good, options starting as low as $4.66 were available for purchase (the materials get delivered directly to the build site). The materials were for the first of three duplexes planned in Havre de Grace on a lot that also has a single family home currently being built by Habitat -- Kathryn's house.

A HUGE note of thanks to the following people who purchased items through this crowdfunding campaign: David Lynch, Jeff Schoenberger, Lynn Van Keuren, Rod Kornrumpf, Joanne Foxx, Judy Herman, Joan Businsky, Anastasios Dernelakis, Tracey Davis, Suzanne Molino Singleton, Nancy Hoch, Keith Moore, Charles Clow, Susan Thrappas, Tim Knabe, Patricia Gilligan, Donna Chason, Kim Letschin, Angela Haney, Lorriane Peniston, Karen Ashby, Megan Rafter, Daniel Lafontaine, and, Laurie Feldman . In total, 35 donors (some of them anonymous) purchased almost $4700 worth of building materials such as shingles, sheathing, lumber, etc.

Volunteer News for March
HABITAT BUILD SITE
Thank you to all the volunteers (groups and individuals) who have been helping us at our current build site in Havre de Grace (Kathryn's future home)!

Pictured is our most recent group of volunteers from Old Dominion Electric Cooperative as they participated in a Panel Build to frame the first two (of six) duplex townhomes that we're going to be building in Havre de Grace on the same lot as Kathryn's home. The money raised at this Panel Build will go towards a home we'll build in Perryville. ODEC's sponsorship is helping three families in two counties! For more pictures of the Panel Build, check out our Facebook page's photo album.

ABERDEEN RESTORE
In March, Aberdeen ReStore volunteers are most needed on Wednesdays & Fridays from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM. (If those days don't work for your schedule, we also accept volunteers Tuesdays from 9 AM to 4 PM and, Thursdays from 10 AM to 6 PM.)
Typically, volunteers work a 2-hour or 4-hour shift. 

Need service hours for school? The Aberdeen ReStore is looking for volunteers to help in its receiving area and on the sales floor in March. You would be helping customers with their purchases, unpacking/assembly donations, and organizing the sales floor. Volunteers just need to be 16 years or older. 14-15 years old can volunteer if accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are needed Tuesdays to Fridays, and especially Saturdays.

If you or someone you know has a housing need, the ability to afford a Habitat mortgage, and is willing to partner with us, come to a  Homeownership Applicant Orientation meeting and hear more about the process! We hold meetings each month in Harford and/or Cecil county locations, day and evening times. They are open to Harford and Cecil county residents only. Advanced registration is required by completing the Interest Form on our website (which also includes the meeting dates and times available throughout the year). APGFCU, in partnership with Habitat Susquehanna, offers financial education seminars and workshops throughout the year. They cover a variety of financial topics and the seminars are free and open to the public. Reservations are required by emailing workshopRSVP@apgfcu.com or calling Dee Barretto at 410-612-2361.
