We're Exhibiting Right Here in West Michigan!

It's time to kick off our tradeshow season next month right here in our hometown of Grand Rapids, MI. We'll be heading downtown to the DeVos Place where we've got the Michigan Safety Conference on the docket for April 16-17, 2019 - and we can't wait to tell you what we've been up to so far this year. Come visit us at booth 617!

The Michigan Safety Conference is near and dear to our hearts. Aside from throwing some love at our favorite state and industry, we've been either attendants or exhibitors at this show for a total of over 20 years. On top of that, this show is in it's 89th year, boasting over 220 exhibitors within the safety, health, and environmental industry to showcase new products, CEs, a silent auction and more - and we think is pretty darn cool.

If you're in the area, be sure to stop by our booth #617 to say hi, see what's new, and learn more about how Evolved Safety can help with safety needs. See you there!

Need to Learn Offline? No Problem, We Have a Solution for That

There's a new training solution in town which has been dubbed "the pocket-sized solution to learning offline" by it's creator and our trusted partner, Pure Safety, where workers don't have to be online to take their safety training. Instead all workers will need is a computer with a USB port and Pure Learning To Go.

Here's how it works: Pure Learning To Go provides consistent, repeatable, and trackable training to employees via a completely self-contained USB flash drive - that fits right in your pocket. With this offline learning, you'll be able to offer up to 50 UL EHS elearning courses per USB to those who are unable to access a company-wide LMS due to no Internet or an unstable Internet connection.

Learners will have the ability to:
  • Enter user information
  • Access a course catalog
  • Print job aids and reference materials
  • Play eLearning courses
  • Store course completion data
  • Print a certificate of course completion

What we like about this training is that it adds another versatile, convenient, and reliable option to companies who have a variety of workers who need training, such as those who travel frequently, work in more remote areas, or have large facilities where Internet is spotty. If you think Pure Learning To Go might work for your employees, let's talk - we'd be happy to discuss a customized solution.

The Cost of Non-Compliance Went Up

Earlier this year, a new rule against OSH Act violations will put a bigger strain on your purse strings. On January 23, 2019, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a final rule that increases the maximum penalty against employers that violate workplace health and safety requirements.

Federal law requires OSHA to increase its penalty amounts by January 15 every year, but because the federal government shutdown delayed the increases for 2019, OSHA announced the new amounts in a "pre-publication" version of the final rule issued on January 15, 2019. Now that the final rule has been officially published, the new penalty amounts are applicable to OSHA citations issued after the January 23rd date, whose associated violations occurred within the six month statute of limitations.

Your Action Items
Employers should become familiar with OSHA's new penalty amounts and review their workplace policies and practices to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
