At Sign & Digital this year we will be presenting equipment from both our narrow and wide format ranges. 

We will be demonstrating the Neptune B3 laminator which is fitted with a deep pile feeder and will run stock weights of 115g/m2 to 350g/m2 at speeds of up to 15m/minute. It also benefits from an easy to operate touch screen control panel. 

Also on the stand we will be the desk top Foiling machine & Cold Mounting machine For the encapsulation side there will be the entry level fully automated Encapsulation Line. The Encapsulating line is modular in construction and is based on a desktop laminator/encapsulator with an automatic feeder and trimmer. The unit can be supplied with a bursting option for lamination too. 

D&K has added foils to its consumables range. Initially we are stocking just – Gold, Silver, Blue and Magenta plus a UV Gloss to give a spot varnish effect. Our standard widths will encompass those currently available in the market and introduce a narrow roll to reduce waste when foiling a small area. Whilst available on our range of laminators we will be demonstrating foiling with the low cost DF350 stand-alone foiling unit, ideal for short runs. The DF350 offers a maximum paper processing width of 350mm and will accept foils on both 25mm and 75/76mm cores.

For signage applications we will show a low-cost manual laminator/mounter, the LBS 650, ideal for one off applications to apply self-adhesive vinyls etc and finally, we will be showing the Atlas C wide format laminator. The Atlas is available in a variety of configurations including the “C” cold range, “HA” heat assist, “HT hot top roller and MF which comprises all the features of the HA & HT together with the ability to encapsulate with all gauges of encapsulating film and can process hot and cold materials - simultaneously, if desired.

Still with no clear answer as to what Brexit will look like, or when it will actually happen, we would like to assure all of our customers, both inside and outside the EU, that whatever the outcome we will still be able to supply as normal.

D&K films are manufactured by D&K USA and will continue to be shipped to us as before for conversion.

Our lamination machines are manufactured and shipped from within the EU and this will continue after Brexit. We have a small offering of economic Chinese machines and supply will continue unchanged.

The Triton B1 range offers both Portrait and Landscape (1050mm x 1050mm) fed models in both Single-Sided and Double-sided “PB” versions. The “PB” double-sided format was initially designed for our smaller laminators engaged in photobook applications where both sides of the sheet need to be laminated to the same high-quality finish and so the “PB” has two identical laminating stations, each with a heated chrome roller and rubber nip roller to achieve this. One unit may be isolated for single-sided work.

Supplied as standard with a pallet loading high pile feeder with floating table to make pile alignment simple and easy, Triton models can also be supplied with an optional Stacker for pallet to pallet operation – all with a maximum speed of 40m/minute which would laminate almost 3,500 B1 sheets per hour when fed landscape.
