Lori's three days of serger excitement will take you on a journey you will never forget. Lori Hernandez's experience, creativity and passion for teaching will set your feet on solid ground! If you're a beginner or a seasoned serging sewist this is the class for you. Lori has designed this class to take you through foundation techniques, creative projects and embellishing know how. So many think sergers are just for cutting and finishing those edges. Sergers do that beautifully, but get ready to experience sew much more! Quilting, Construction, Zipper Insertion, Lori's "Cover Hem Plaid Technique", Flatlocking, Wave Stitch Edging, Chain Stitch Embellishing, Lori's "Rolled Hem Piping Technique" just to name a few of the serging possibilities you will experience.

The stylish waist sits at the high hip and has four finish options: elastic, elastic with self-fabric draw cord (either inside or outside),draw cord only or draw cord elastic. Class wil cover cutting, construction, and tips for sewing elastic waistbands. Pattie will have try-on pants available to help you select the correct size and length to help you choose your perfect fit.
Denali Vest with Pattie Otto

Create a stunning front zipped vest or jacket with curved pockets using the new Denali Vest and Jacket pattern from Great Copy Patterns. During class you will have access to try-ons to aid in selecting the correct size, fitting advice before you cut out your vest and construction tips as you sew your fleece vest. Class will also include applying fold-over elastic, inserting a front zipper and stitching an easy baseball style ribbed collar. Class fee includes Polartec 200 fleece, black zipper black fold-over elastic and stabilizer.
Extra fabric will be available for purchase for those who choose to make a jacket instead of a vest or add a hood.

Are you new to sewing or looking for a refresher? This class will introduce you to the inspiring world of sewing while you create a versatile Ten Pocket Tote. Class will begin by familiarizing you with the basics of your sewing machine as you learn the mechanics, practice threading, how to wind a bobbin and use seam guides to sew simple seams. After you have selected your fabrics, you will then proceed to cut out your tote using both patterns and rulers. Sewing techniques will include simple seams and hems, seam finishes, top stitching and tips for accurate sewing. Pattie will also demonstrate quick seam finishes, handle variations, easy embellishments and optional closures. Class fee includes fabric and thread.

Sedona Skirt with Pattie Otto

Create a fabulous fun and flirty skirt that's perfect for any occasion. The Sedona Skirt is a unique five panel skirt with a full lower yoke, elastic waist and asymmetrical hem. This pattern is sized XX-Small to XXX-Large (waist 20-42 and hips 30-53). You can make your skirt long or short from rayon or cotton batik. Pattie will have all sizes of try-on skirts available to help you select the correct size and length. She will also show you how to easily cut and handle lightweight fabrics, stabilize bias edges and share tips for sewing elastic waistbands.

Racks are filled with them, as are your closets and drawers. Knits are everywhere, so why aren't you sewing with them? Are you a little hesitant? Are your palms a bit sweaty? Admit it. You're terrified of sewing with knits. Put these fears to rest with this fun and exciting class. Included will be advice on how to select the right knit for your tees, tanks, cardigans, pullover and more as well as layout and cutting pointers and super quick construction tips for professional results every time. Pattie will also share her tip for handling the new ITY and other curly knits. You'll be amazed at how easy knits really are to sew. This is a lecture class.
Knits Serger Techniques with Pattie Otto

Master the four basic techniques needed to serge knits: seaming, neckbands, hems and applying elastic. This hands on class covers basic seaming on a variety of knit types and where and when to use stabilizers and top stitching. Practice four different neckband techniques including how and when to use the Knit Binder. Several hemming options will also be covered including cover stitch basics on a variety of knit fabrics. Simple elastic waistbands for pull-on pants will be explored as well as a professional cover stitch option. You will complete multiple samples with detailed class worksheets that you can apply when making knit garments. The kit includes Knits for the Absolutely booklet, worksheets, and fabric for samples.

Summer Tee with Pattie Otto

You'll want to fill your closet with these classic and comfy summer tees. Join Pattie as she shows you how to select the right fabric, fitting techniques and quick serging methods. Class will use Great Copy #2550 Savannah Tee which is sized ladies X-Small to 3X and has petite, average and tall sizing. Try-ons will be available to aid you in selecting the correct size. Pattie will aid through the layout, cutting and construction for the perfect summer tee.

Shenandoah Panel Quilt with Lisa Cowan

Lisa will walk you through the steps to create a stunning wallhanging using Creative Solutions' Shenandoah quilt pattern and a fabric panel. This simple pattern goes together quickly. Perfect quarter inch seams are not required, there are no points to match, and adjustments are easy to make. Pick your favorite panel and coordinating fabric and let Lisa guide you through the process.
Basics Plus with Pat Brousil

This class is designed to teach techniques that are used in many simple quilts. We will concentrate on Flying Geese, paper piecing, strip piecing and half square triangles. The pattern focuses on large animal appliques; however, other designs can be used. Machine embroidery, computer generated machine appliqué or pre-printed panels can fill in the 12" x 24" rectangles. Pieced borders highlight the designs. Before signing up for this class, you should know how to use a rotary cutter and sew an accurate 1/4" seam allowance.
Log Cabin with Pat Brousil
